The purpose of most Reenactment groups is to teach about life during the time period they portray. Research and authenticity are important to the people who participate in these events. The local school children had an excellent learning experience when the National Civil War Association and friends came to Oakhurst. So did anyone who took the time to ask questions and find out how people lived back then.
