I made it to the last of a series of Didgeridoo Fests held in North Fork, about a half an hour’s drive from the ranch. It was a wonderful photo experience and a great place to be. The park was filled with the sounds of drums and didgeridoos and many different instruments from people jamming away. Children had a great time swimming in the pond, playing on the playground equipment, throwing frisbees in the air, and having as much fun as the adults there.

One vivacious girl offered to be my model as she demonstrated the playing of a colorful didgeridoo.
People Watching
There were many very interesting people at the fest. For once, I went out of my way to capture the people in addition to the colors and festivities.

There were music classes held during the day and a concert on Saturday evening. It was colorful and laid back at the same time. The people reminded me of the bright side of the hippy generation – all here to share the good vibes of life.

2012 Far Studio Gallery

Do you mean there will be no Didge Fest this summer (2010) at North Fork? I have been looking forward to it and telling friends about it.
Carol
Alas, the sponsors for the Didgeridoo Fest decided that they had supported it for long enough. It’s an incredible amount of work arranging such things.
Jon Bock, the owner of Stellar Gallery has had a didgeridoo concert at the gallery earlier this year. You might keep an eye on his events to see if he supports something similar.
